  • Weather:  70 - 95°F Mostly Cloudy to rainy in the morning; Slightly cloudy and hot in the afternoon
  • Wind: Slight breeze 

     Talk about a topwater day!  This weekend's rainy weather and high water worked in unison to provide one of the best topwater days to catch LARGE largemouth.  It also provided the right combination for Hog Hunters' best turnout for the 2009 season.  Notably there was a total of 240.5lbs of fish that were brought to the weight in.  With a field of 24 boats that results in a 10 pound average per boat!  And, that's how you spell a great day of fishin...

     Congratulations goes to our Ft. Gibson's Champions, Devon Bristol and Wayne Copeland, for bringing in a huge sack of fish weighing 18.47 lbs.  This team also took the big bass award for their 5.99lb lunker.  Looking back, Bristol and Copeland have really become a force to be reckoned with in these past three tournaments.  Including the Ft. Gibson tournament this team's track record is two first place victories and a third place victory in only 3 tournaments.  Great Job Guys!!     

     Just over two pounds out of first was the team of Ken Hathcock and Tony Sheldon.  Having a good day themselves, Hathcock and Sheldon laid claim to second place with a 5 fish limit of 16.21 lbs.  Third Place was awarded to Wade Miller and Gary Miller for their limit weighing 15.02 lbs.    

Congratulations to all those mentioned above, and to everyone who fished for making this our best tournament yet.
