The weather on Saturday at Eufaula was beautiful all day.  And, although it was foggy in the early morning, that's when several teams said they caught their fish.

      It was a great day to be on the water, and the conditions were perfect for what should have been a "slug fest".  The lake level was up 3ft above normal pool, with water covering the shallow brush, and the water temp was found up to 60°F.  But as we all know, the fish don't always do what they are supposed to do!  Reports were that some areas of the lake were like the dead sea.  However, several teams found fish in other areas, but the bite was slow.

      In first place was Dannie Caldwell and Gary Vanarsdel with 4 fish weighing a very respectable 12.66lbs.  Behind them in second place was the team of Jared Bennett and Danny Burgess, with 3 fish weighing 12.03lbs.  This included the big bass of the tournament weighing 7.16 lbs. Wow!!! What a toad! And to top it off, they lost another one just like it .. OUCH!!!  Second big bass went to Dannie Caldwell and Gary Vanarsdel with a 5.16lb black bass.  Third place went to Jeremy Whittiker and Matt Whittiker with three fish weighing 8.61 lbs.

      The Next tournament will be April 26th on Sardis. We anticipate some BIG sacks at this one, which are typical down there this time of the year. The pre-tournament meeting will be at Bass Pro Shop at 7:00PM on the  23rd. See you there !
