"COMEBACK"
- Definition: Chuck Holmes and Jeff
Bias on day 2 of the Hog Hunters Classic.
See below for details...
DAY 1 Tenkiller:
The
infamous Lake Tenkiller strikes again.
This day was tough by all standards, but it
really shouldn't have been. The early
morning rain and light breeze made for prefect
topwater conditions. However, it was a
just matter of being in the right place at the
right time says this young angler. My
congratulations go out to Ken and Rusty Hathcock
for catching a sack of fish which tipped the
scales at 12.95 lbs. This was the heaviest
string during day one of our two day Classic
Tournament.
TENKILLER
CONDITIONS: The water color on Saturday
was clear / stained depending on where you were.
Surface temps ranged between 70 - 75°F. The wind
was out of the South at 15-20mph.
DAY
2 Ft. Gibson:
Day two brought
about a huge string! Notably, for the
first time in many years a twenty pound stringer
was brought to the scales at Ft. Gibson.
Chuck Holmes and Jeff Bias weighed in 20.27lbs
Sunday and thereby smoked the competition.
In addition, Chuck and Jeff took the Big Bass
title with their 6.42lb largemouth. Great
Job Guys!!!
FT. GIBSON CONDITIONS:
The water color on Sunday was stained / cloudy
again depending on what part of the lake you
were fishing. Surface temps ranged 74 - 78°F.
Wind was out of the South at 10-15mph with gusts
of 25mph.
In the end,
day two's weights were enough propel Chuck and
Jeff into first place overall. Their
combined weight came to 27.07 lbs. Ken and
Rusty Hathcock claimed second place by
consistently catching a good limit of fish both
days. Their weight came to 24.32lbs.
Finally, third place went Eric Rosser and Joel
Clark with a weight of 23.07 lbs.
I would like to thank
everyone for a great 2008 season. Our next
meeting will be two weeks after the Triton
tournament schedule comes out. Have a
great winter break, and good luck to those of
you who will be in the woods for the next couple
of months deer huntin'.
